Scott Barfield

CEO/Broker
Scott Barfield comes from a family of real estate professionals. He graduated from NC State University in 1993 and immediately went to work alongside his father in the real estate development business. From his role as a sales assistant he eventually grew to Salesman of the year for Resales at St. James Plantation. From there he worked for the Ginn Development Company in Florida where he participated in a one day sales event with 57 million dollars in closed transactions. Scott oversaw the sales and marketing campaigns for the communities that surrounded the 2004 and 2006 HGTV dream homes. Scott was side by side with TV personality Jack Thomason when the keys were handed to the winners of both homes. His love for marketing bloomed under the mentorship of  real estate developer Devin McCarthy who was instrumental in the development of the pro V1 golf ball. As the financial climate changed in 2008 Scott opened up the company he now runs. His last 10 years have found him serving other real estate professionals at the post as President of the Hendersonville Board of Realtors for 2017 and 2018 and consistently ranked as one of the top 10 out of more than 600 agents in his market for buyers agency. If you ask Scott he will tell you “I have loved real estate and the development of new properties since I was a child riding in the back of my father’s Toyota Land Cruiser looking at a field that would later become prime commercial real estate”.

Leslie Barfield

Administrative Coordinator
Leslie helped found the company in 2008 when the real estate market was un-predicatable and the times called for very personal approach to solving problems. Previously she worked in marketing for the the TN development company called Rarity Communities. That company was comprised of 4 luxury gated destinations that are still considered by many as the top places to live in east TN.  At her marketing post she was instrumental in the largest one days sales event in the history of the state. Traveling through out the country to promote these communities Leslie met Scott in 2005 in Columbus OH.  They were married later that year and began a fresh start in Western NC where together they have raised 4 children who are busy with their own lives.  Previously Leslie worked side by side with top sales professionals from all over the country  and she is uniquely qualified to be the glue that holds the team together. As Chief Operations Officer she over sees marketing, document management, closings and agent relations.

Danielle Jones

Broker/Team Relations
Danielle found Western NC as the perfect place to raise her daughter moving here in 2015 from South Florida. With a depth of experience in the insurance business the transition to real estate was a natural progression.  Danielle enjoys helping new agents learn the market. She is extremely proficient in finding rare properties that elude other agents. She credits this to consistent study of the market. Danielle says it best “The properties that I want for my clients will sell quickly so I have to be vigilant in my search…I am guilty of texting clients early in the morning saying…its time to go!” Danielle especially loves the satisfaction of guiding her clients through the process of winning the negotiations if competition for the property is strong.

Tom Carroll

Broker/Analyst
Tom is the team research-analyst. He supports all of the brokers on the team with daily research in both new inventory and closed sales. One of the team members summed it up well “Tom saw a 6 acre parcel as soon as it hit the market, we sent our scouting team over, that led to the purchase of an adjacent property that was not on the market that totaled more than 10 acres with a home for less than 190,000. After we surveyed the land and remodeled the existing home we saw it rise in value to over 350k. None of this would have been possible with out Toms vigilance.” Tom was previously with research and development for John Deere. He said “it was a dream job testing and improving their equipment”. Tom relocated to Asheville to help in the sales and marketing efforts Wolf Laurel Golf and Country Club and has enjoyed his daughter, son in law and  grand children who also call Asheville home.

Cliff Worsham

Broker/Land Specialist
Cliff was a key member of the sales team at the prestigious community Mountain Air Golf and County Club. Mountain Air features an airport in the middle of the community that is surrounded by Golf, Tennis and other Private Club amenities. Cliff’s experience there gave him a broad background in mountain land aquisitions. His ability to read topographic maps, scout homesite locations and look at how the land influences building costs is invaluable to his clients. After Mountain Air Country club Cliff was on staff at Private Mountain Communities where he was responsible for the analysis of dozens of planned communities all over western NC. He would then match specific communities to customers needs based on criteria such as hobbies, lifestyle and work requirements.  Before Mountain Air Country Club Cliff was also a Top Ranked  tennis coach. His broad experience with planned communities, country clubs and land acquisition is a huge asset to the team at Scott Barfield Realty.

Amanda James

Broker/Marketing Specialist
Amanda has grown up in western NC where she has deep roots. Her and her husband Justin own a marketing company that was based in Charlotte NC where they settled after graduating college. As they started their family it was natural for them to head to the mountains where the family ties will help them raise their two daughters. Amanda’s years of living in the mountains gives her a local knowledge of neighborhoods that are not on the marketing websites. Her experience as a marketer allows her to promote her listings with online marketing buffet that reaches far and wide.  If you are searching for your first home or ready to sell one you have owned for years, Amanda is a great resource for you to call on.
